Oyoni

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 20, 2026

1. Scope and acceptance

This Privacy Policy explains how Oyoni ("we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares and protects personal information when we provide the Oyoni mobile application, website, and related features and services (together, the "Services").

By visiting, registering for, signing in to, or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. If you do not agree with any part of it, please stop using the Services. The information required may vary by feature, your settings, and applicable law.

2. Information we process

2.1 Account and profile information

To create and maintain an account, we may collect your gender, name or nickname, date of birth, phone number, or email address. You may also choose to add profile photos, videos, a biography, interests, and tags. Other users with whom you connect may be able to see some profile information, and it may be used within the Services for discovery and recommendations.

If you sign in through Facebook, Google, WhatsApp, or another third-party account, we may receive information within the scope of your authorization, such as the third-party account identifier, access token, name, email address, profile photo, birthday, and other information you agree to share. We use it to complete sign-in, sync your profile, restore your account across devices, or assist with age assessment.

2.2 Usage, device and log information

When you browse, search, click, sign in, use a feature, or interact with our notices, we may automatically collect technical and usage information. This can include IP address, device model, device and app identifiers, browser and operating system, language and carrier, referring and visited pages, feature usage, search terms, link clicks, connection information, communication dates and duration, Cookie identifiers, and crash or diagnostic data.

We generally retain log data for no more than 30 days. Crash reports are generally collected to diagnose faults, improve stability and enhance the experience, rather than to identify you, although they may in some cases contain device or service-state information.

2.3 Location information

To support nearby discovery, connection recommendations, account security and service integrity, we may process your precise location (such as GPS), approximate location (such as a city, country, or region inferred from Wi-Fi or IP), and location records created while you use the Services, where the relevant permissions are available. Some features depend on current location to work properly. You can manage location access in your device settings, but disabling it may limit those features.

2.4 Communications, content and media

When you send private messages or comments, upload photos or videos, record audio or video, share music, or otherwise create content through the Services, we process that content and related metadata, such as the sender or recipient, time, duration, and reports. We may use automated systems and human review to identify harmful content, prohibited images, abuse, or security risks. We may review or otherwise process relevant communications where necessary for safety, compliance, or report handling.

With your authorization, we may access your photo library, camera, microphone, or storage to support profile setup, media sharing, calls, recording, and other features that require those permissions.

2.5 Live streaming, virtual items and transactions

When you host, watch, or interact with live streams, we may process streaming periods, viewing duration, engagement statistics, comments, likes, follows, searches and browsing activity, gift and virtual-currency type and quantity, sender or recipient relationships, timestamps, stream quality, device, camera, microphone, and network information. To maintain community standards, we may review audio/video streams, chats, and reports, and may retain stream recordings or review materials for a limited period when necessary.

If you purchase goods, virtual currency, or other paid content, payment processors, merchants, or we may process transaction-related information, such as card or payment credential information, billing address, transaction date, amount, merchant name, purchase records, and related behavioral data. The actual scope of payment-data processing is governed by the payment screen, payment provider rules, and applicable law.

Public content reminder: Information, photos, videos, streams, and interactions that you publish or send to other users may be viewed, screenshotted, recorded, forwarded, or saved by others. Cached, archived, or third-party copies may remain even after you remove the original content.

3. Why and how we use information

We may use personal information to:

  • Create, verify, and manage accounts; and provide matching, connections, profile displays, messaging, audio/video features, live streaming, games, music sharing, and paid features.
  • Recommend people, content, or streams based on location, interests, settings, and usage, and personalize the Services.
  • Process payments and virtual-item transactions; respond to support requests; send service communications; conduct surveys, research, analytics, testing, and product improvements.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, illegal activity, and violations of service rules; and protect the security of the platform, accounts, users, and third parties.
  • Send service updates, event information, offers, and other marketing communications where consent is obtained or permitted by law.
  • Meet legal obligations, respond to regulatory or law-enforcement requests, and manage corporate transactions such as restructurings, financing, mergers, or asset sales.

Our legal bases may include performance of our service agreement with you; our legitimate interests, such as network security, fraud prevention, business administration, and product improvement; your consent; compliance with applicable law; and protection of vital or public interests where applicable.

4. Sharing, visibility and international processing

4.1 Who we may share with

Where necessary to operate the Services and pursue legitimate business purposes, we may share personal information with:

  • Vendors that provide cloud infrastructure, technical support, analytics, customer service, content moderation, security, identity verification, payment, research, communications, or data-management services.
  • Affiliates, professional advisers, auditors, banks, financial institutions, payment processors, debt-collection or credit-reference providers, where applicable.
  • Regulators, courts, government bodies, law-enforcement agencies, and other parties where needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal rights.
  • Actual or prospective counterparties involved in a restructuring, merger, acquisition, financing, sale of assets, or similar transaction.
  • Other users and third parties at your instruction, with your consent, or as a result of information you choose to share.

Your Oyoni ID, nickname, gender, region, profile photo, birthday, interests, playlists, and other information that you make visible may be displayed to other users. Messages, comments, live interactions, gift rankings, and leaderboards may also be visible to others depending on the relevant feature settings.

5. Retention, deletion and account closure

We retain personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, to resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, or maintain necessary records. When information is no longer needed, we delete it, anonymize it, or otherwise make it no longer reasonably identifiable, unless retention is permitted or required by law.

After permanent closure, we will delete or anonymize information associated with your account, except where law requires otherwise or retention remains necessary. Deletion may prevent us from continuing to provide the Services and cannot guarantee removal of content copied, forwarded, or reposted by other users or third parties.

6. Security and protection of minors

We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risks involved, including access controls, password protection, activity logs, system monitoring, stress testing, need-to-know access restrictions, pseudonymization or aggregation, and automated detection and human review processes. These measures are intended to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, misuse, loss, or alteration.

However, no internet transmission or electronic storage method is completely secure. Please safeguard your account credentials and contact us promptly if you notice suspicious activity.

The Services are intended for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18 and may verify age ourselves or through third parties. If we identify underage use or inadvertently collect such information, we will take deletion, restriction, or other appropriate steps in accordance with applicable law. Users under 18 may not host live streams.

7. Your choices and privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict processing of, object to processing of, withdraw consent for, or receive a portable copy of your personal information, and to lodge a complaint with a relevant regulator. You may also:

  • Update certain profile details, notification preferences, and privacy settings within the app.
  • Manage location, photo library, camera, microphone, and notification permissions through your device settings.
  • Unsubscribe using the instructions in marketing messages or turn off certain marketing notifications in settings.
  • Submit an account-deletion request within the app.

To protect accounts and information, we may verify your identity before responding. Certain requests may be limited by legal obligations, public interests, the rights of others, or the need to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

We may use Cookies, pixel tags, web beacons, and similar technologies on our website, app, emails, and advertising to recognize sessions, remember preferences, understand service use, measure campaign performance, protect security, analyze traffic, and provide more relevant content or advertising.

You can usually manage, remove, or block some Cookies and similar technologies through browser or device settings. Restricting them may prevent certain features from operating properly or make the Services less personalized.

9. Third-party links, policy updates and contact

The Services may link to third-party websites, apps, or services. Those third parties handle information under their own rules, which we do not control. Please review their privacy notices before using them.

We may update this Policy in response to legal, feature, or business changes. For material changes, we may provide notice through an updated page, website notice, in-app prompt, or another method required by applicable law. Continued use of the Services after the effective date of an update indicates acceptance of the revised Policy.

If you have questions about this Policy, our processing of personal information, or the exercise of your rights, contact us at [email protected].
